What the work is
You probably do not have a clothing problem. You have an accumulation — sound individual purchases that were never asked to agree with one another, bought across a decade in which you changed and the wardrobe did not, and the result reads as effort without direction to everyone in the room except the man wearing it.
The order of operations is what fixes that. Colour before cut, because the wrong value against your skin makes a beautifully cut jacket look borrowed. Proportion before brand, because a label has never once corrected a shoulder line. The standard set before anything is bought, because the most expensive garment you own is the one that hangs unworn.
Alignment
One session. Undertone, contrast and value read against your skin; proportions measured rather than estimated; the gap named between how you present today and the man you know yourself to be.
Design
Two to four weeks. A wardrobe drawn as a system — what is kept, what is altered, what is made, what is sourced — so every piece has a reason to be there and something to be worn with.
Curation
Ongoing by choice. Seasonal review, replacement before failure, and dressing for the occasions that matter, so the standard holds without you having to maintain it yourself.

Twice a year, what worked stays, what failed is replaced, and the system is corrected rather than restarted.
Who this is for
A man whose presentation has fallen behind his position. He has done the work, the room has not caught up, and he has noticed the gap himself — that noticing is the qualification, and it is the only one that matters here.
It is not for a man looking for a shopping trip, a discount, or a second opinion on a purchase he has already made. The practice takes one man at a time, which is the reason the process exists at all.

The Atelier is at 18 N Marengo Avenue, Pasadena, California 91101, by appointment. Wardrobe travels — fittings, closet work and sourcing happen wherever you are across Greater Los Angeles, from San Marino and Glendale to the Westside and downtown. Grooming stays in the Atelier and does not travel.

What does a men’s wardrobe consultant actually do?
He establishes what suits you before anything is bought — measuring your proportions rather than guessing your size, reading your colouring against your skin’s undertone and contrast, and building a set of clothes that work together instead of a collection of individually good purchases that do not. Shopping is the last step, and it is the shortest one.
Do you work in Pasadena only, or across Los Angeles?

What does it cost to begin?
A private consultation is $300, credited in full against the engagement that follows. Engagement pricing is set after the consultation, because a single season looks nothing like a full rebuild.
Is this personal shopping?
No. A personal shopper buys on your behalf inside a taste you have already set; this practice sets the taste first — colour, proportion, register, the way a room reads you — and then buys, alters or makes to that standard. You end up owning fewer things and wearing almost all of them.
How long does it take?
Alignment is one session. Design runs two to four weeks depending on how much is made rather than sourced. Curation is ongoing by choice, and most of the men who reach it move to a seasonal rhythm.
